When starting a new recording on the HDR-1 or NVS-20/25/30/31/40, please transfer and backup your previous recordings to your computer, then format the media in your Datavideo product to ensure best performance.

 

The key feature to look for in a drive is a high sequential write speed. Drives optimized for this are recommended for recording video. To find this value, you will often need to search online, as it is rarely printed on the packaging at a store.
